Pakistani freelancers have achieved a landmark milestone in the country's digital economy, setting a historical monthly record by generating $197 million in foreign exchange earnings in September 2026.

According to official State Bank of Pakistan data, freelancer export receipts surged by 49% year-on-year and 11% month-on-month. The record monthly inflow pushed total freelancer earnings for the first quarter (July-September 2026) to $550 million-a 46% jump compared to the same period last year-as individual tech talent and digital agencies continue to drive national IT exports toward record highs.
