Pakistan has demonstrated significant progress in international technology and knowledge adoption, climbing four ranks to secure 95th place among 139 economies in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2026 released by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The report highlighted Pakistan's performance as an "innovation overperformer," driven by strong scores in software spending, ICT service exports, and mobile application creation. Federal representatives noted that sustained support for technology startups and digital infrastructure projects remains critical to expanding national output ranks.
